MicroLoc Workholding News
Press release Feb 13th 2010
CNC Milling Machine Workholding manufacturer and UK tooling specialist MicroLoc have reported better than expected sales in the last quarter of 2009 and the first quarter of 2010. Supplying a wide range of markets with their workholding products, MicroLoc continued their impressive year on year growth even during the recession.
The MicroLoc series of workholding clamping systems is one of the most adaptable, versatile and compact vice products available in today's tooling manufacturing market. The base plates, which act as a datum for the vices provide a clamping repeatability of less than +/- 25 microns and can be manufactured to ideally suit any machine tool.
MicroLoc sell on average 20 systems a month into the UK market, in the last quarter of 2009 over 90 systems were sold, there can be only one of two reasons for this quotes Managing Director Mike Jenness 'either the machine tool market has picked up considerably or engineers are looking at ways of getting more out of their current machine tools, either way its great for our business'.
'We look forward to a great 2010, early indications show that the improvement in the last quarter of 2009 wasn't just a blip and more like a trend' concludes Mike.

Following the success of the Machine Tool Direct Forum in 2009, MTD the online giant is just about to release a new, upgraded version of the engineer's tool for 2010. As it currently stands MTD provides a collective of useful features to its users online, this will be yet another reason to keep coming back.
During 2009 MTD invested heavily in a new look website in order to provide more features for engineers interested in all aspects of the Machine Tools and Tooling markets. It was a hugely successful venture, since launching the new website traffic has significantly increased and MTD customers have benefited from an even greater response for their products.
With 2010 looking like a brighter year than the previous for Manufacturing, the above would suggest that MTD is extremely well positioned to continue its steep growth.
'There is no question the internet and electronic marketing are the future for all businesses, we were right to embark on this path 3 years ago, even though at that stage publications still had a strong hold on the market, we knew that the tide was turning.' commented Paul Jones - Managing Director.
'One of the great things about our business model is that we can focus all our efforts on electronic marketing, we don't have to concern ourselves with magazine publications, exhibitions or expensive literature, all our investment goes into developing our website to provide users with easy access to, up to date, relevant and useful information. The new Forum should also provide manufacturers with an outlet to use when looking to solve issues, find new employees and potentially improve their customer base' concludes Paul.
